Azul is an elegant abstract game. You draft colourful tiles from factories and place them on your board. You score points for creating patterns. The rules are very straightforward. The strategy lies in forcing your neighbours to take tiles they do not want. Taking excess tiles drops your score fast. It can be surprisingly mean for such a pretty game. Turns are quick, so there is almost no downtime. The tactile feel of the heavy tiles is great. A solid filler that works well for both casual players and experienced strategists.
